Sink unit

The sink unit is now fitted. This means that the next job to do is the cuddy back - the cuddy is growing! One the back is fitted, then I can fit the work surfaces and then the cuddy sides.

Cooker Unit fitted

The cooker unit has now been fitted into the cuddy. This unit will hold the cooker, take a drawer underneath and have storage for pans and food.

Cooker cabinet

A bit more cutting and glueing of stringers has resulted in the construction of some furniture for the starboard side of the cuddy. This is the cooker cabinet, with a drawer and storage for pans under, and food storage behind. A bit of finishing and wetting out with epoxy will see this section ready to glue and screw into the cuddy.

Settee back and shelf

The port side settee back is now glued on together with the shelf. Lockers will be useful for storing bedding etc. Lynn tried it all out for comfort, sitting and sleeping - quality control: approved!

Cuddy furniture - Port side

After hours of gluing stringers to bits of ply it was finally time to fix in the first of the cuddy furniture. This will create space for the water tank, two lockers and an area to fit the wood-burning stove. Forward of this the frames for the port bench backrests are also fitted.

Cuddy Sides - glue and screw day

With everything ready to go and a fine day forecast all seemed fine to glue the cuddy sides. A bit of morning preparation was followed by the matter in hand once the sun had warmed everything up.

The cuddy sides are finished and after a few shavings here and there are now fitting together like a jig-saw puzzle. A helping hand from Lynn allowed me to put everything in place and I just need to wait for another non-rainy day to glue and screw.
